The Hope Mission, still Hopeless

I posted this on Facebook a couple years ago, I was just recently there for a visit and it seems very little has changed on how they view the Indigenous People, very little indeed.

December 15, 2018  ·

Hope Mission (Edmonton) laughs at and ridicules the indigenous and elderly clients. Sure they feed us. And most times it's edible. Sure they give us a place to sleep at night, but they also don't provide blankets to many of the clients and we can go a week without heat at nights, just like last week. But hey, they also laugh at me, as an Indigenous person, if I complain about them mishandling my smudged, hand-carved with an Eagle feather, walking stick. Or they'll just laugh at and mock an old man for complaining about them opening up the shelter a half hour late in the cold, while preaching at us in the morning about how much "Jesus": and they love us. You folks can praise them all you want for a meal given, when Christianity and colonialism created these problems of poverty in the first place. but me, I'll eat the food they steal from others with lies, because they forced me to with their oppression and racism. I'll sleep on their mat because they forced me to with their Doctrine of Discovery and the fact they've labeled me and my people... SAVAGES! End Poverty Edmonton.... they cut back funding and services to the drop-ins so we're forced onto the streets with no place to go. sure End Poverty by allowing us to die in the cold. by making it so bad on the streets we're forced to assimilate into the colonial system or die where we lay... be it the river valley or in front of an unwelcoming shelter. End Poverty Edmonton... do nothing for the homeless, but give lots of money to consulting groups to study us, survey us... only to give a report that says NOTHING WE DON'T ALREADY KNOW. !!! I've been on the End Poverty Edmonton Committee for 3.5 years and nothing is changing on the streets, they're even getting worse, even after all my reports on what's going on.. I've been with them for three and a half years and have been homeless for most of that time... Not once have they tried to get me housed.
{contact your local shelters and find out if they provide their staff with Trauma Informed Practice training. And everyone could use more Indigenous/colonial history awareness and discussions on how to rectify that history and perhaps save our ability to live on this planet in the future.}
UPDATE:
So last night I received an "implied" threat to be denied entry into the Hope Mission shelter. Staff stood blocking the doorway as I stood there with my backpack already bagged for their overnight storage and asked the obvious question, "you want to come in?" then repeated, with a little more emphasis ":You Want To Come In?" Their excuse was because, like many other of the guys who stay there, I yelled out "shut up" to the staff member who goes on preaching after reading the morning scriptures they use to wake us up. Ok, I can understand a few morning scriptures seeing it's a "christian" organization. Even though it was christianity which stole this land through the "Doctrine of Discovery" in the first place. But they go on and on, to them it's a joke and the best "Alarm Clock" they know of, which is what I overheard a staff member and client(white guy of course) speaking and laughing about THAT VERY MORNING.  This morning they said, "if you don't want to hear the scriptures you can just get up and leave" then immediately goes into his spiel on their version of god and love. Without giving us the chance to "get up and leave" . Yes, other guys yell at them every morning but they singled me out, why? perhaps it's because I speak out against their abuse, arrogance and continued forced assimilation into their money, land and children hungry religion. Even after traumatizing generations of my people with their form of religion in the residential schools, we are still subjected to their form of brainwashing because we have no place else to go in this city to sleep, unless we want to take our chances freezing to death on the streets to where it's illegal for us to loiter and camp. Their are residential school survivors who get re-traumatized every morning by this organization of charity where the CEO makes HOW MUCH MONEY?!!! Well I couldn't find out with a quick search but simple managers make over a hundred thousand dollars a year. And other listed charitable organizations list CEO'S making 2-4 hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.... So much for doing God's work out of Love for "the least of these".

The TRC and the Joke that it Truly is

The TRC commission has been living in their privileged little bubbles for too long now. They are selling out our people to Canupchuk!
Wilton Littlechild just sold out the Indigenous Peoples by saying "FREE, PRIOR AND INFORMED CONSENT DOES NOT EQUATE TO AN INDIGENOUS VETO! Which of course it does if the colonists won't respectfully work with us or if the project is not in the best interest of our people!

Ms. Marie Wilson says if reconciliation is dead, it's because the Indigenous people made it so!

And Murray Sinclair? Well there is another sell-out who white-washes everything. I heard a lot of testimonies about that oppressor of our people behind the scenes of the TRC events over 5 years ago. I was also told by an elder that he was one of the goon squads in the residential school. Which is why is also called it "cultural genocide" and NOT what it actually is... "genocide". because by calling it "cultural genocide" it lets canada off the hook for any international legal repercussions

How do you think these people get the positions they do... because they know how to toe the colonial line. Of course they appear to be working for our people, just like many INAC chiefs and Pipeline Perry Bellegarde, these people are mere puppets to the colonial government to do their bidding of keeping the indigenous people in line while appearing to represent us.

Edmonton Police are Disgusting, Careless Pieces of Shit.

PLEASE SHARE

Edmonton Police had just dropped this guy off whom couldn't walk and was very intoxicated. He is a homeless person and just left there outside the hope mission. They just dropped him off and drove away. I told a friend to get a worker to get him into the right place which they did. I mean if he is to intoxicated to walk they could have taken him to drunk tank to sleep it off, not just drop him off and drive away. Some police just have no common sense or heart, just in it to collect a paycheck.(that part was written by a man who actually got him helped his name is Charles Gordon)

If Advocating for the Truth Makes me a Racist, Then I'm Proud to be so!

I just wanted to show you folks a little interatction on FB when I shared a quote from the Petition I created to counter the false colonial narrative taking place in Canada and to some degree, in the U.S as well.
https://www.thepetitionsite.com/280/810/207/protect-the-indigenous-narrative/

===================================================
Lance Abernathy: I get it your racist. I will continue my fight for indigenous right and the right for all people of color but you my friend have made it very clear you only care about one people.

{OPERATION DECOLONIZATION/MATTHEW 9:17}; The important thing is, we got them dumb indians advocating for colonization again. It's too bad we had to use poverty stricken black colonists to do it | made w/ Imgflip meme makerME: Lance Abernathy yes you're right, I do only care about the Indigenous People, my People (especially the Indigenous homeless) when it comes to the propaganda and lies the media and everyone else is putting out there about putting the black, or any other colonist, before Indigenous rights and statistics that blacks should have the most focus when it comes to social justice issues. Yes I care about the lies that the targeting of the black communities is just about race when it's not. It's largely about targeting the most vulnerable. It's about police filling their quotas.
(Although the U.S and Canada are systemically White-supremacist institutions and this ought to be addressed, the BLM narrative is largely a false one. Stop talking about race cuz that does not help the Indigenous People, neither is it stopping the issues of racism. Let's talk about Decolonization instead cuz this is Indian Country, not Colonists' country... although it may appear that way for now, lol.)

And the media narrative is about overshadowing Indigenous rights by flooding the airwaves with colonial rights. THAT'S WHAT IT'S REALY ABOUT. So wake up and understand the urban Indigenous, especially the homeless which make up 50% going up as high as 90% in a few cities in canada, being racially targeted by black store owners, security guards, and landlords on a daily basis! I will NOT advocate for BLM when they, or even our own rez indians(and popcorn elders), won't even acknowlege or talk about these facts.

You have no idea of my work and the 7 years sitting in racism/anti-racism committees and initiatives listeningto all colonial POC asking for the same rights and privileges as the white-man which is essentially inherently oppressive to the Indigenous People and the environment. NO, nobody should have the same rights and privileges as the greedy white-oppressor, no matter what country you live in.

----------------------------------

If Advocating for Indigenous Rights over colonial rights makes me a racist, then I am glad to be a Racist!

Protect the Indigenous Narrative

Please sign this petition in order to help reclaim Indigenous Sovereignty in our own territories:
https://www.thepetitionsite.com/280/810/207/protect-the-indigenous-narrative/

Ban the BIPOC acronym and place the term "Indigenous" before "black" in all social injustice issues on Turtle Island. Decolonization means decolonizing the narrative as well.

Fighting racial injustice is a vital issue these days and definitely ought to be fought. However, growing evidence leads to the fact that the Black Lives Matter narrative is creating a bigger racial divide, with greater instances of racial violence.

Never mind the fact urban Indigenous people are racially targeted by ALL colonists, including colonial POC in stores, malls, university campus', transit centers and housing units. This aside from the fact we're forced to pay them rent... on our own lands!

Why is "black" put before "Indigenous" in every sentence on this continent when it comes to injustice? BIPOC is a redundant acronym of colonial propaganda to keep people's focus on black colonial rights over Indigenous and other marginalized POC issues.

Indigenous people are killed at higher rates than black people in the U.S according to the CDC but go unreported. We don't even exist in American stats! BLM even shamed an Indigenous woman trying to speak up for our people at a BLM rally.

BLM is spreading lies about homelessness & police on black violence stats in Canada. This is NOT a race war, it is a "War on Poverty", and the most vulnerable as police/POC are coming forward and testifying to. It is also a war on crime... of which the poverty stricken most represents POC in the eyes of the colonial society. HENCE, IF YOU CAN'T TOE THE COLONIZING LINE, YOU'RE THE ENEMY.

When I asked BLM to acknowledge Indigenous people experience systemic racism from all colonists no matter their color, they refuse, utilizing the same language white-supremacists use against them to deny racism… against me.

One member even went so far as to laugh at a blog post I wrote about the realities of systemic racism Indigenous people face from black people. Although on the positive side, there is a growing number of black American's who oppose BLM because of the lies and violence they bring to the arena of social justice issues.

I personally would like us to stop asking people to seeing and respecting our skin color, and start respecting and protecting all life as well as our eco-system.  I also find it very funny how in multiple conversations with BLM members as I bring up stats on Indigenous oppression, they reply OVER-WHELMINGLY "It shouldn't be a oppression competition"... HYPOCRITICAL FUCKERS!!! LOL

YES LET'S FIGHT INJUSTICE, BUT NOT WITH MORE VIOLENCE AND LIES.
Because...  #AllLifeMatters

UPDATED: The BLM take-over of Indigenous Spaces (important video to watch inside)

UPDATED blog content for Frank Opinions of a Jesus Freak: The BLM take-over of Indigenous Spaces

Since the blog post about the Indigenous Lives Matter event, Jesse Lipscombe and BLM contacted me so we might work out our contentions. Jesse was quite humble and listened to what I had to say, even though I could feel his apprehension to believe there can be black on Indigenous violence, LOL! he even went so far as to ask my opinion on some of his work with Indigenous communities which I found quite refreshing and good, aside from one particular lie in his film that people are "not colonizers, full stop" As these systems are already in place since before they were born... LMFAO! IDIOTS! LOL.

And when I pointed this out jesse, he claimed it's too late to change just because that was the final edit yet it has even been released yet!  lol. He thinks I'm stupid. But he said in the spirit of good relations he'd like to perhaps collaborate on projects in the future to which I agreed. But then he throws in a threat by telling me not to slander him by my bringing up the fact he not only disrepected me, but my people by totally disregarding my request not to use the racist mantra of "Black Lives Matter" at an Indigenous event. Once again proving the selfish ambitions of the colonist. And so it became cystal clear the ONLY REASON he was talking to me, was cuz he's concerned for his anti-racism savior complex in his work.

Then talking to BLM... Well they totally refused to believe there is such a thing as black on Indigenous racism/violence while they kept using the same phrases the wh te-colonist uses to deny racism exists against them... against me. One BLM member was willing to listen though and  she did  good job of moderating the discussion between Jesse and I, to which I praise her for. Especially in light I had a whole group of people including a metis standing against me while I was left alone to defend the truth. That's the white-colonist's tactic, lol. Then BLM advocate, Mubarik Bayere, joined the discussion and this piece of shit was competely disrespectful as he even went so far as to laugh at some very serious issues I and my people have faced and yet... still do.

Why the F is "black" constantly put ahead of "Indigenous" in front of every sentence & acronym on this continent? Why the F is BLM even in Canada?! BLM has been spreading lies about homeless stats in this country and stats of police on black violence.

Think about it! BIPOC is a acronym and tool of colonial propaganda to keep people's focus on black colonial rights over Indigenous Sovereignty! Indigenous nations and black colonists ARE people of color!!!! STOP talking about race and color and start talking about criminalizing white-supremacy and decolonization!! OTHERWISE WE WILL ALWAYS BE TALKING ABOUT RACE, SKIN COLOR AND HENCE CONTINUALLY IN A STATE OF ASKING EACH OTHER TO SEE OUR SKIN COLORS AND NOT THE TRUTH.

Indigenous people are killed at higher rates than black people in the U.S but nobody talks about that. We don't even even exist in American stats! But ya don't hear BLM talk about that do ya?

BLM even shamed an Indigenous woman trying to speak up for her own people at a BLM rally! I will only support colonial black issues if you put Indigenous ahead of Black in all our discussions, hashtags and events and BLM shows some damn respect as they haven't in the past. Nor have they ever been in solidarity at any Indigenous action as a collective group, but now they expect us to exclaim BLM at our own events, LMFAO!

This is a war of the mind as well as the media. and Indigenous people all over this country is falling for it! Especially rez indians who don't know shit about the urban Indigenous experience, the Indigenous homeless poulations who suffer the most from colonial black on Indigenous racial targeting by security guards, cops and store owners and slum-lords. FUCK YOU ALL!

Then we have all these popcorn elders who make money from these colonists who speak nothing but fluffy words and bullshit commeradery when it's all a smokescreen to allow the real violence and the assimilation machine to continue. Providing the colony with excuses to pour more money into programs thay only serve to assimilate our people faster into the canadian system and allow this BLM movement to run roughshod over our People and our Sovereignty.

Previous Post:
So there we have it. Black lives matter changed the name of an event to accomadate BLM who were selling BLM T-shirts at what was supposed to be an Indigenous lives matter event. ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT for Indigenous lives as they refuse to give on their self-serving mantra, but we have to give up ours on our own land!

Just as with jesse lipscombe who has no respect for the Indigenous perspective or Indigenous spaces. I told him if he used that racist, self-serving bumper sticker mantra BLM. it would be a war so he did... ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT AS THESE SELFISH TERMS DO NOT HAVE TO BE UTILIZED, why can't we talk truth? which is white-supremacy and colonization.

Black people have been talking about race for a hundred years and still are. Who's next? chinese lives matter, muslim lives matter, etc. When do Indigenous people get to talk about gettin our land back from ALL THE COLONISTS OF ANY COLOR!

Jesse lipscome also blocked me from speaking the truth on an edmonton racism page, (can't remember the name) that Indigenous people are targeted daily by all non-Indigenous POC, especially black security guards following us around as soon as we walk in a store. BLM wants a war? I am only getting started, lol.

Not only that! in a CTV news article on the homeless Pekiwewin camp the organizers which the article emphasized was BLM, said that in this city "black and Indigenous people far out number white people in homelessness". WHICH IS AN OUTRIGHT AND UTTER LIE!!!

The homeless black population DOES NOT out number the white homeless population in this city, and definately not Indigenous People! This is a colonizing narative trying to erase the Indigenous narrative.

I have nothing against our black relatives, even in light of them targeting us in stores and in every public space cuz they're just doing what the white society conditions them to. But I have everything against this false narrative of BLM IN CANADA.

Why would white-colonist George Soros, who got extremely wealthy off the genocidal policies of all POC, fund the BLM movement? To shift the publics focus from Indigenous rights, to the rights of colonizing POC so white- elitists can continue raping the land and our people!

Please check out and sign my petition to help change the narrative: https://www.thepetitionsite.com/280/810/207/protect-the-indigenous-narrative/

The Canadian Press: Ex-Trump adviser Steve Bannon charged in border wall scheme

Stephen K. Bannon looking at the camera

NEW YORK — Former White House adviser Steve Bannon was arrested Thursday on charges that he and three others ripped off donors to an online fundraising scheme “We Build The Wall.”
The charges were contained in an indictment unsealed in Manhattan federal court.

Federal prosecutors alleged that Bannon and three others “orchestrated a scheme to defraud hundreds of thousands of donors” in connection with an online crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $25 million to build a wall along the southern border of the United States.

A phone at the office of Bannon's lawyer went unanswered Thursday morning. A spokeswoman for Bannon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

According to the indictment, Bannon promised that 100% of the donated money would be used for the project, but the defendants collectively used hundreds of thousands of dollars in a manner inconsistent with the organization's public representations.

The indictment said they faked invoices and sham “vendor" arrangements, among other ways, to hide what was really happening.

Before he was tapped to lead Trump's 2016 presidential campaign in its critical final months, Bannon led the conservative Breitbart News. After Trump was elected, he moved on to a top White House strategy post.

The blunt-spoken, combative Bannon was the voice of a nationalistic, outsider conservatism, and he pushed Trump to follow through on some of his most contentious campaign promises, including his travel ban for some foreigners and his decision to pull out of the Paris climate change agreement.
But Bannon also clashed with other top advisers, and his high profile sometimes irked Trump. He was pushed out in August 2017.

BLM is No More Important than the Indigenous Reality

.

You wanna know the main reason I am no supporter of BLM besides their racist, self-serving slogan on the genocide-stained soil of my ancecestors? It's because when I was a kid, my mom told me about a prophesy that the black-man would rule this continent after the white-man. Then after the black-man it would be the yellow-man. Well I ain't having any of that shit on my watch! Perhaps the prophesy already came true in the form of Obama, and all the black wealthy celebs and corporate leaders, maybe not. But it's not like the black populations have it anywhere near what the Indigenous Peoples face, even in the states. Yet these days it seems to be all about Black Lives, even from Indigenous people who think riding THEIR coat-tails will help our People.

Boardwalk Properties' Discriminatory Practices

Yesterday was my final day to take down my flag while everyone else is left alone with their flags and other violations to our balcony/window lease agreement. the last time I took my flag down with the belief management was looking into all the other violations which they did not, they kept allowing others to violate the lease agreement. I am told they will be evicting me over this and I told them I will not take down my flag until everyone else is held to all aspects of the balcony /window lease agreement as well. There are nearly a dozen other flags still attached to their balconies in this one complex alone along with many other violations to the lease agreement which many have obviously been in place for years. But Renata Gounder, area coordinator for Boardwalk properties has been targeting me and harassing me about my flag and my flag alone. Below are just a few pics as there are many more along with Renata's linkin account...

colonial rasim, Yup

I accidentally deleted the wrong video on my phone of me confronting this 5' tall Pilipino (I think) female security and manager of the Meadowlark dollar store. {Same store, another security who is Sikh tried that with me the first couple times I went there but I got him to stop real quick. What got me about this one was her cavalier attitude about targeting Natives}. I caught her, the security guard, begin to follow me as soon as I walked in the door and I asked her if she "followed every Indian as soon as they walked in the store" to which she said "YES" and smiled about it as she walked away That was not on the video though. What I had on video was me asking her to confirm what she said, then some bald white guy, I believe it was the manager, claimed he heard what I asked her and that I did not say "Indian". So I asked him, "Why would I say anything else?" I mean, I AM AN INDIAN!!! lol. so the video did not show the incident but I wanted you guys to at least see the security guard/manager interaction. A clear case in policy of colonization in the form of the targeting of Natives by an immigrant (POC), protected by white-supremacy.... and that's colonial racism.

Is Colonial Black, the New White?

{This post was wrtitten mainly for our southern neighbors and just prior to Indigenous Peoples speaking out in canada nearly as loud as the BLM movement in the U.S and before NDP Jagmeet Singh's awsome speech on systemic racism. thanx Jagmeet! But BLM still has a long way to go in respecting the Indigenous People's narrative. And keep in mind... our BLACK guests to this continent racially target and oppress Indigenous People just as much as, our white oppressor}

Why is it that everyone RARELY ever mentions Indigenous Peoples and the racial targeting thereof.  Well that's just how it works...
Hush hush on the colonial on Indigenous violence, but if it was any colonial citizen or prospective colonial citizen being targeted, then of course canadians/americans would be all up in arms. Watching some of the BLM rallies of recent, many of them have absolutely no respect for the Indigenous genocide that took place here or even the undeniable fact, that EVEN IN THE U.S, Indigenous People are killed by police at higher rates than any other demographic INCLUDING blacks, but are just not reported or covered by the media.
One black fellow at an anti-racism rally totally cut off an Indigenous woman who tried to represent the Indigenous perspective. He kept interrupting her as she tried to speak saying "ok, ok, alright..." trying to get her off the mic. And even though he did say after "our black and brown, lives"... it was too late, it was clear in his voice and actions he, and as I can attest to many others as well, black anti-racism advocates don't give a shit about Indigenous lives even though they might concede a shout-out once in a while.
The Indigenous woman was left standing there, with others in the crowd chastising her, apologetic for trying to defend her right to speak for her own people, on her own land, about the Truth that colonial black lives matter more than Indigenous Peoples Lives!!!
The following is an excerpt from an article from 2016 but most un-shockingly, is that as usual, I myself cannot find any statistics for "Native Americans". And don't you be thinking we are listed under the "other" categories in america cuz most times, we are not. AMERICANS DON'T INCLUDE US INTO MOST OF THEIR STATISTICS, which is why you see black folks always representing higher negatively in and around the discourse of social justice instead of the Indigenous People…
“The racial group most likely to be killed by law enforcement is Native Americans, followed by African Americans, Latinos, Whites and Asian Americans,” according to the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention collected between 1999 and 2011 shows that Native Americans, who are 0.8 percent of the United States population, comprise 1.9 percent of police killings. They are 3.1 times more likely to be killed by police than whites. (Law enforcement kills African Americans at 2.8 times the rate of whites.)

What about all the Indigenous people who were killed by police just in the recent weeks, yet the majority focus and sympathy lies towards black lives. This even in light of the fact Indigenous People are racially targeted and oppressed by black colonists & settlers just as much as whites.
Fuck the slogan "black lives matter" Because #AllLifeMatters, and they have their own homelands they can return to. I am sick of Indigenous, animal, plant and microbial life being pushed to the damn margins for a People who is just as oppressive to the Indigenous Peoples and our land, as any other colonial group/corporation/demographic. Ya they're being killed by police at high rates in the U.S, but not as much as Indigenous People. They are also much higher on the social stratification ladder than my people, BY FAR!  And from my experience of many anti-racism discussions and initiatives over the years, aside from the systemic oppression, many simply want equal access to the same environmentally destructive rights and privileges the white-man has...  and the majority don't give a shit about my People or our causes unless it's a rally they can shout... BLM!
And I know there are some BLM groups upholding and respecting Indigenous rights and our people, but WAY too many are not. It's just as what Mahamad Accord told me when he chimed in on a social justice group E-mail with contentions between me and a black disabilty community advocate who tried to shut down my voicing the very contents in this blog post, calling me anti-black and a xenophobe. This is a portion of what he said... "I was the first person who started BLM but I don't go to their ralies because of the same issues that you mentioned in your email.  Remember that the Blacks in Canada aren't monolithic when it comes to their specific issues and the solutions."

And this is exactly what I am speaking to, not all, but many black colonists thinking they have a right to run roughsot over my people and to this land just because of their own history with the colonial mindset of oppression, the very same mindset many of them are perpetrtating against my people within our territories. Irregardless if they give the shout-out of stolen land and Indigenous solidarity from time to time. Because what we're witnessing is quite reminisent of canada's apology to my people for the residential school era, yet does very little in rectifying said attitude. Yet in this work, I am also simply trying to get our people to recognize and start taking control of the narrative for the benefit and truth for our people, and not someone else's.

Through all our work we must remember this one FACT above all... that via the doctrine of christian discovery, canada & the U.S. has unfounded, illegitimate and indecent claims on these lands and therefore, has no real authority over the Indigenous Peoples, our Land AND its resources.m This also goes for every colonist and settler, regardless if their ancesters were brought here as slaves or not.

"The Doctrine of Discovery was promulgated by European monarchies in order to legitimize the colonization of lands outside of Europe. Between the mid-fifteenth century and the mid-twentieth century, this idea allowed European entities to seize lands inhabited by indigenous peoples under the guise of discovery...
In 2016, the Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), adopted Assembly Action CA16.02.04 entitled Repudiation of the Doctrine of Discovery by a vote of 912-28, describing the Doctrine of Discovery as "an example of the 'improper mixing of the power of the church and the power of the sword'" (Wikipedia) the Anglican Church, the Episcopal Church, and the United Church of Christ have offered apologies for colonial oppression and have repudiated the DOCD as “fundamentally opposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and our understanding of the inherent rights that individuals and peoples have received from God.”

Ongoing Violations of Indigenous Rights to Freedom of Expression

May 12th.
Boardwalk Properties(area coordinator Renata Gounder) in Edmonton has been harassing me to take down my flag of which is against the lease agreement. Ulitimately giving me three warnings, one verbal and two written to which I tried to accomedate removing my flag from the railing and placed it NOT ON the balcony, but INSIDE and hanging from eye-hooks already pertuding from the walls.  However I felt I was good upon my looking around and seeing everyone else in our complex with flags and and all other kinds of violations to this same stipulation in the agreement which states...

"Tenant(s), will not shake, clean or hang any laundry, rugs, mats, cloth, flags, bedding, etc. from balconies or windows. Tenant(s) shall not place or hang anything out of windows or balconies. Only proper drapes and/or blinds may be hung on windows."

So are they trying to tell me I am the only one in this whole complex with this condition? The first time the manager came knocking on my door to which she had a few different excuses for the balcony barrier across the way which did not get past me, lol. like the barrier was on the inside of the rail, then when I showed the manager mine was on the inside as well, the excuse changed to my flag was upside down and offensive because THIS IS CANADA, lol. What was actually interesting is that the reason they are investigating me is because several residents have complained about my flag, lol. And OH, the manager also said those multiple flower pots and patio lights hanging off the edge of the other balcony rails are allowed, but WRONG! According to the lease agreement, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED! Which goes to show who, what & how they choose to favor "colonial rules" is at their discretion. There are aproximately 9 other flags hanging from balconies in this complex, but mine is targeted. the manager even though kept changing her excuses as to try and get me to take it down. One of those excuses as I mentioned was because my flag was upside down, but she denied saying that when she talked to my social worker asking him to get on me to remove the flag as well.

So this IS a clear case of them not enforcing that the lease agreement on that point but only for me as I exercise my Right to Freedom of Expression which goes against colonial patriotism.
